THE CALL

3/11/2013

I had always dreamed of where I would be when I got the  call- you know THE CALL - the one all aspiring author’s wait for, the one that takes months and months, sometimes years to get. The call that changes you from a dreamer to an Oh-My-God-I’m-going-to-be-published screamer. Anyway my call wasn’t even a call. It was an email, an email I just about deleted as another rejection email.  I read it three times before I began screaming. Thank goodness I was home alone at the time or my family would’ve started running away from me like I was a crazy woman…my dog did.

So...always check those emails thoroughly as you may have a good one there for a change.

My offer came some three years after I finished writing ‘Lost in Kakadu.’ But it was worth the wait. During this time, I re-wrote it numerous times, edited it a dozen or so times and in its final year of evolution I hired a professional editor to help me polish it. I’m so proud of the finished book and I hope you love my story as much as I do.

“Lost  in Kakadu” will be sitting on your shelves or e-reader very soon.

Hi Brenda, I haven't got my release date yet, but I'll announce it as soon as I know. It probably won't be until later in the year though. I can't wait to get it out there.

Thank you so much Emma. It's worthy of several glasses of champagne. Lucky my freinds are willing participants in the celebrating.

Hi Tracy, thanks for the comment. I can't wait for you to read it either. Lost in Kakadu doesn't have a sequel. But my next story Treasured Love may have one.

Hi Jennie, congratulations to you too. I too was born in England, but I'm so grateful that my parents chose to move to Australia when I was young. I look forward to following your writing journey too. Cheers.

Oh are we starting an ex-pat Escape group? I was born in UK too - and I actually did delete "my call" email but fortunately was able to retrieve it!
Looking forward to Lost in Kakadu
